After a mugging gone wrong, I wake up in a strange castle after being "saved" by Q from Star Trek. To make matters worse, the local population thinks I'm the lost prince of the Crystal Empire, Shadow Heart. Or to be more accurate: King Sombra. However, instead of playing Q's game of being the resurrected evil king of doom hellbent on world domination. I get on a conveniently placed train dropping off my mortal "enemies," and travel south to the land of Equestria.
It's here that I discover the magical concept of friendship, horrible pony puns, cheesy romance, herding, magic, and the wonderful creation of pony coffee. Also, I discovered the true evil of Equestria, and it's just down the street from where I work. It's called Tin Hoovers, and they are the bane of all that is caffeinated with their cheep flavored water they have the audacity to call Coffee!

A struggling young adult finds herself in Tartarus as the nefarious Cozy Glow. If she wants to go out and freely explore all of Equestria with her villainous buddies... she was first going to have to change this evil filly's future.
I wasn't the most consistent fan of My Little Pony, in all honesty. In fact that show wasn't the only thing on my list of interests. For a long while I had left those colorful ponies in the dust. I practically missed seasons 7-8 because I had gotten bored. However... it was the last season that drew me back in. I guess I now know a bit about the show, but not everything. I definitely knew of Cozy Glow however. She was hated by everyone. Well, except me. For some reason I liked her as the mischievous little filly she was. Her character interested me and I wanted to learn more. I wanted to see what kind of history she had. Why did she decide to turn evil? She was probably the only reason I went back to previous seasons.
You could guess how disappointed I was when the finale came up. Instead of helping her, they turned her to stone. Instead of trying to figure out the issue, they left her behind to be forgotten. Everyone cheered and laughed while Cozy, Chrysalis, and Tirek were turned into statues for the rest of eternity. I was displeased. Afterwards I drifted away and instead tried to focus on my work. I had to, after all. I was becoming an adult. I was growing up. Though the stress might pile up on me, I had to keep going. I had to get things done...
I could keep going... couldn't I?
It seems however that the universe had decided to drag me back into a world of rainbows and magic. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly woke up the next day inside a cage in the deepest, darkest chambers of Tartarus. Not only that but also as the small pink bundle of feathers that everyone loathed and despised. A billion questions rang through my head but the most prominent ones of all continuously pounded against my skull: What in the holy hell do I do from here? And how do I stop what comes next?
[Note: This is half a self-insert and half not really. This character is different from me but does have a few traits from me as well. Like cursing, I curse a lot, but there are some traits here and there I don't really have.]
You can hide away your problems. You can mask all of the pain with lies. You could live an eternity and pray that the scars simply fade away. Despite all of your best efforts though...not even all the power in creation can truly ever fill a void.

A concept that many beings strive tirelessly for throughout their entire existence, yet also might never have the privilege to see.
A concept that the whole of Equestria might finally be able to enjoy for a good long while. Nightmare Moon has been defeated and Princess Luna restored, the changeling invasion was repelled, King Sombra was banished eternally and the Crystal Empire returned to its former glory, and even Discord himself was eventually reformed towards a better state. Indeed, it could be said that the ponies of Equestria might finally be able to relax and recuperate from many an averted crisis.
But peace is a fragile thing...is it not?
Since her recovery, Princess Luna has been pushing herself ever harder towards finally gaining her subject's acceptance that she longs for so much. However, as the months drag on, the stress has slowly begun threatening to bring her towards the breaking point. Whilst seeking out what she believes might finally show the ponies that she only means well, the Princess of the Night happens to stumble upon something not ever once seen upon the face of the planet. A piece of ancient knowledge, all but completely lost to the passage of time.
However, even the greatest of knowledge...has the potential for unmatched destruction. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
I won't ask that you take it easy on me, only that you try to keep any criticism on the constructive level (unless I do something blatantly stupid and abhorrent...). In turn, I will do my absolute best to take all of your suggestions to mind, and attempt improve the story in any fields necessary. All in all...it won't be perfect, but it is my greatest hope that it will in some way pique your interests.
In the alternate timeline where Sombra was not stopped, a human finds himself suddenly in Sombra's body... just after the dread tyrant has conquered Equestria. Now trapped in a world where just about everyone hates him, he must try to keep up the illusion that he is the villainous conqueror, while at the same time try to win over his new subjects.
However, this will not be so simple, as the real Sombra is not quite dead... and he is most definitely not happy.
After the arrival of humanity, and the capture of the changeling queen, a startling breakthrough is made along with an even more horrifying realization.
A human, after a tragic accident, ends up in the body of Lord Tirek. It all goes downhill from there.
