Well, as it turns out, I just happened to wake up right at the beginning of Season 1. Which could only mean one thing: I can change the future of Equestria. I could solve problems prematurely, prevent disasters from happening, and keep Twilight from going insane.
So now, my mission isn't to hug my favorite ponies, but to make sure everyone gets a happy life.
Sunset Shimmer travels to Earth in search of allies for Equestria. The world she finds there is hardly the one she expected.
For nearly a thousand years the ancient prophecies of Clover the Clever sat unread in Canterlot's forbidden archives. Until the day that Celestia took on an apprentice, and everything changed.
Sunset Shimmer is smart, resourceful, and determined. No matter how many new lessons Sunset learns, she just isn't satisfied. Equestria is in danger, and Celestia refuses to give her the power it would take to help defend the kingdom.
Another pony might've given up and trusted her princess to handle things. Sunset Shimmer isn't like most ponies. If Celestia won't deal with looming threats, Sunset will take matters into her own hooves. She'll find allies for Equestria even if she has to leave the universe to do it.
A prequel set in the continuity of My Little Apprentice. This story is not required to understand that one, or vice-versa.

A rather familiar world at that. Deciding that he is the best pony for the job, he takes his two best soldiers through the portal with him to get the Element back. So, pretending to be a foreign exchange student from Canada, he infiltrates of all things... a high school.
As an experiment, Twilight Sparkle worked with her counterpart and Sunset Shimmer to bring technology over to Equestria. After weeks of hard work, Twilight had set up her own computer inside her castle, ready to share it among her friends
Ever since she traveled to the human world, Twilight grew fascinated with humanity and their ability to accomplish technological advances despite having no magic. After studying modern technology for a while, she asks her counterpart and Sunset Shimmer to conduct an experiment with her. They would bring technology to Equestria, get it to work, and share it among their friends.

This story is meant as a companion to Harmony Defended, and to take the place of the long-anticipated revision. I decided it would be better to write something new than to overhaul something that was so long in itself. This story will probably spoil various elements of that one, though the reverse will largely not be true. If all of this seems confusing, you should probably start with my first story in this series, My Little Apprentice. As that story was written in Season 4, this one will not necessarily incorporate the canon of future seasons of Friendship is Magic.

Starlight and Sunset have the Trixies from the FIM and EQG universes meet up. Naturally, both Trixies have a competition to figure out which one of them is the Greatest and Most Powerful.
After foiling Wallflower Blush's scheme, Sunset decides to spend some downtime with Starlight in the human world. They catch up for a while, but soon discover that they have something unique in common: The Trixie from their universe helped save the day at least once. Grateful for this trait, Starlight decides that both Trixies should meet up, since they're heroes and all.
And then the inevitable happens: Both Trixies meet up with each other and immediately decide to have a competition to figure out which Trixie is the Greatest and Most Powerful.
Things only escalate from there.
