Fortunately for her, the new Changeling King Thorax also has a problem. Among the many new duties that have come with his royal status is the responsibility of expanding the hive, a responsibility that has manifested in the form of a belly full of unfertilized eggs ready to be laid in a host for incubation. It's fortunate for the both of them then, that their problems may be able to solve one another.

Queen Chrysalis, after having been thwarted by ponies time and time again in her plans to conquer Equestria, is, to put it mildly, not doing so well. Her forces have been reformed, her kingdom has been overtaken by overly friendly simpletons, and on the verge of starvation, the changeling queen goes seeking refuge to rebuild her strength and concoct a plan to reap vengeance upon those who have wronged her. Stumbling upon a village to the north of Canterlot, she finds shelter in the home of a rather curious and headstrong mare.

This is a retelling of A Voice Among the Strangers from three viewpoints in particular. You don't have to read AVAtS to read this one, as I will be attempting to make each a full story on their own.

Chrysalis is annoyed by her evil 'frenemies'. The brawny centaur and the bratty little pegasus had been far too loud for her liking - the pair are always chatting and working out together. Not only does this prevent Chrysalis from enjoying her usual solo scheming time, but they are also acting dangerously friendly - something that could result in the two being infected by the Magic of Friendship.
Chrysalis confronts Tirek about why he even tolerates the annoying and precocious filly - her only real 'skills' included: ...being small.
But quickly, the changeling queen is confronted by Cozy, who is sure that she can prove her worth to the chitinous overlord. The pink pegasus challenges the queen to a wager - one that will involve Tirek as well...
Can she slake the changeling's love thirst?
