And so begins the glorious reign of Flurry, apparently.

First you're born, and then you're recorded in triplicate. The end of labor is the start of a very long paper trail, because nopony can exist without being documented. Sending copies of a new foal's documents to the Herdbook Registry is perfectly normal. And of course, in order to make sure there's nothing strange going on, that paperwork gets reviewed. Which is done by bureaucrats who establish absolute control inside their office while having no idea of what's happening in the actual world. So as far as they're concerned, the forms associated with somepony named 'Flurry Heart'...
Don't tell them. It's funnier if they find out on their own.

Sun Butt rules during the day, controls the sun, protects land from monsters, indulges in male anatomy shaped fruit & cake, and abducts children... at least that's what wikipedia says. Moon Cheeks rules the night, controls the moon, plays with people in the 'apple master race', haunts children as the next Freddy Krueger, and plans how to take over the world when no one is watching. There's also six horses that act as the 'mane' stars and a bunch of other background & side characters that this Fan Base loves... like this girl that... loves... rocks. I don't get it.
Princess Cadence and Prince-Captain Shining Armor have given Thorax a journal to document his days in the Crystal Empire so they can help him learn from his experiences. This can only go well.
Dear Small Pony Book,
Hello. My name is Thorax. I am a changeling formerly of the Badlands Hive, ruled by the terrible Queen Chrysalis. Nowadays, I am fortunate to call the Crystal Empire home, and their Royal Family my friends.
Since I'm rather new to living in pony society—without orders to infiltrate, of course—my new friends have been doing their very best to help me get acclimated to this strange, alien way of life. To this end, Princess Cadence has instructed me to tell you of my experiences so that we might use this as time to reflect together. However, I do find it strange. How am I to discuss my day to day interactions with a book? Especially one without a name? You can't not have a name, that would just be rude. So, I will just have to figure one out for you.
I'm not sure why Cadence is laughing at that, or why Shining Armor is groaning. This is a very serious issue.
These ponies are strange. But I don't think I'd have them any other way.
A little thing for me to fiddle with when I'm bored. Updates will likely be sporadic. Tagged as a prequel/sequel to The Face I'll Wear because it will explore some of the same themes and will show events before and after the story.

At the tender age of seven, Flurry Heart is finally given what she wanted: responsibility. To do her part for the Crystal Kingdom, Flurry's duty is to look after certain important guests that come and go through the castle in order to win their favor, in ways only a filly can.
A young Flurry Heart finds a book in Twilight's castle that summons a creature known as a 'tenti'. What you think happens, happens.
Flurry Heart, being the curious foal she is, wanders off into Twilight's castle alone. When she explores the library, she comes across an open book that was left out. It has glowing text and arcane symbols, all detailing how to summon a harmless, friendly creature called a 'tenti' that the book claims is 'a fertile mare's best friend'. It also lists some very relevant warnings which Flurry ignores, not understanding the terms used.
Summoning the creature at the promise of a friend and toy, she explores the long tendril some, it explores her in return, and before long its return touches become much more physical and intimate. Flurry soon learns just what kind of 'toy' it is a mare in estrus needs, and just what the tenti's true purpose is.
