After dying unexpectedly, I find myself in a world of my own creation. Once I've actually created it, that is. I'm not sure why I get to do this, but I'm going to be sure to have fun building a universe. Even if it does have ponies instead of people.
You've all heard the "I died and was Displaced to Equestria" prompt. Rather than Equestria, I wound up in a Void, waiting to be shaped into a world, and with the power to do just that. After a brief conversation with someone who may or may not exist (still not sure if I was talking to myself) I decided to create Equestria, just to see what would happen. It's not turning out quite as I'd pictured, but I'm enjoying the ride.
A human wakes up as Discord just as Keep Calm and Flutter On begins.
After dying in a predictably stupid car accident, a human wakes up paralyzed and unable to see or feel anything... which seems reasonable for the aftermath of an argument with a truck, until Celestia starts talking and he figures out that he's dreaming that he's Discord. And then the Elements set him free and he figures out no, actually, this isn't a dream. Begins right before "Keep Calm and Flutter On", and the first few chapters crib a lot of dialogue from that.
Not Displaced, but it is one of those "human wakes up in the body of an Equestrian supervillain" stories. However. Fellow Discord fans. Trust me, I'm not gonna write a story about our boy where the real thing never makes an appearance. The actual Discord will show up sooner or later. Also not a self insert, as should be obvious if you listen to the main character talk about himself for about 30 seconds.
This is a commission for The Bird, but the original story idea was mine and I take credit for everything except the impetus to actually write the damn thing.

The universe is forever altered as a human is embroiled into the timeline and ends up changing a key event of the story. John Bukharin woke up with a rare case of 'Isekai' into a world he knows about and... now he is a king. This is wrong on many levels. Especially the paperwork-level.

What's worse than becoming a pony? I'll tell you. Transforming into Princess Cadance during a college class and waking up in a horse-trailer. Yeah. Life's screwed up.
None of you know me. And I know why. I'm just an average 20 year-old MLP G4 brony... who is going to a college for graphic-novelists... in the year 2025.
But take my advice: life finds a way to screw with you at every turn. I know that because I had a first-hand experience with something nobody has ever experienced before.
I fell unconsious and turned into Princess Cadance. During a college class! And I woke up in a horse trailer post-transformation!
Life can be so f'ed up!
Now I'm in danger and being held hostage by a bunch of crazy people! But you all know how that ends. Right? Probably not. But do you know what? I don't know either.
This just goes to show that you should never wish to transform into a pony. Ever!
