What does it mean to be a Changeling? To the former human Prince Phasma, that means doing what you can to survive and thrive in an utterly alien world.
In the beginning, The Great Weaver brought together the world, from the mountains to the forests. Stitching it together, the Great Tapestry connects all living and nonliving things.
The Changelings found themselves especially connected to this Tapestry. Legend says that the first Changelings fell through the world as it was woven together, only to be caught on the First Weave beneath it all.
But what happens when something else is caught in the Weave?
Prince Phasmatodea, son of Queen Chrysalis, remembers what it was like before he hatched. He remembers being a human. He remembers dying. And he fully intends on avoiding another death.
But being gifted a new life does not matter when one failure, one false step, will lead to your untimely demise in the Changeling hive; for Prince Phasma must survive his toughest adversary from the start: Mother Dearest.
Defeated. Betrayed. Cornered and outnumbered. One last chance. An escape...to a new world. A strange world. A world of giants.
For Queen Chrysalis, the end seemed near. Defeat after defeat at the hooves of her enemies had left her tired and desperate while her army of once thousands reduced to a mere several dozen. Surrounded, it seemed that utter defeat was inevitable. But she was a proud changeling queen, she wouldn't go down that easy. She still had one last trick up her hoof. A Portal...to another world. And through that portal, she entered a world of new wonders, of new dangers, and to her surprise and utter shock, a world of giants.
For Rick Mason, life was alright. He had a nice house, a decent job, and two awesome dogs. What else could a guy ask for? Tiny talking alien bug horses? ...Well it's not like he wasn't asking for them.

If any of you know the real Deadpool, don't worry, he's not the same silent freak played by Ryan Reynolds in the piece of s**t prequel starring Hugh Jackman as a short guy with metal claws. If you have no idea who or what is going on, please, look it up. Meet Equestira: A magical land that hosts many mythological creatures, but mostly god horses, unicorns, pegasi, and boring horses. Everything is ruled by two god horses; Princess Sun Butt and Princess Moon Cheeks. Sun Butt rules during the day, controls the sun, protects land from monsters, indulges in male anatomy shaped fruit & cake, and abducts children... at least that's what wikipedia says. Moon Cheeks rules the night, controls the moon, plays with people in the 'apple master race', haunts children as the next Freddy Krueger, and plans how to take over the world when no one is watching. There's also six horses that act as the 'mane' stars and a bunch of other background & side characters that this Fan Base loves... like this girl that... loves... rocks. I don't get it.

What their mother doesn't know though, is just how different these new changelings will be.
Not all changelings are fit for life in a hive. But that doesn't mean they're capable of life outside it, either. Join one such changeling as he tries to find his place in Equestria, and what the difference is between survival and living.
Idol Hooves holds a special place in Equestria. He's probably the only exiled changeling to serve in the Royal Guard, or at least, that's what he expects, as exiles don't really broadcast that fact. However, it's well known that Princess Celestia loves all of her little ponies, and her guards perhaps more so, and that makes it one of the best ways for a changeling to discreetly feed.
But how does a changeling even get there, let alone get exiled in the first place? For that matter, why would it ever go to Canterlot? Set a number of years before the series proper, before Luna’s redemption, Idol details how he was exiled, the ponies he’s met, and the series of misadventures that led him to joining the Royal Guard, and should continue a good ways into the series, as something of an alternate perspective.
Soon, he’ll have to deal with a boisterous new princess to serve and a royal wedding in the works bringing a third to power. Will his old instincts bring this new life crashing down around him? What precipitates Chrysalis’s ill-fated assault on Canterlot? Is it really so wrong for a changeling to enjoy good craftsmanship to an obsessive degree?

Princess Celestia finds a baby Changeling Queen during her travels. She had intended to bring her back to Canterlot only temporarily, until she could find the hive the Queen belonged to. For now though, the Changeling Queen was just Twilight Sparkle
Changelings and ponies had always been natural enemies of each other, especially with the crystal ponies when they were around. Why wouldn't they be? Changelings were like parasites, feeding off the love that ponies gave off and driving them to illness.
However, Changelings had begun to decline. What started out with as seven hives have diminished down into three, all of which had gone into hiding so well that most ponies didn't know what changelings even were. Even Celestia had not seen one for quite a while, a long feat for an immortal pony.
Until she found a nymph. A new Changeling Queen.
Unable to find it within herself to abandon the changeling, Celestia ends up taking the nymph back to Canterlot under guise as Twilight Sparkle. The plan was simple; find the hive that Twilight belonged to and return her back to be raised with her race.
Of course, despite everything she learned through her long life, she had forgotten that things were never that simple.
For starters, she did not anticipate herself to grow fond of Twilight as time began to pass, or to beam in happiness when Twilight began to refer to her as mom.

Then things get weird with magic, chaos magic, dark magic - pretty much all sorts of magic. Sombra makes a swipe for revenge, some sinister cult is working in the background, and somehow changelings are involved... or not? It all leaves Jax pretty vexed. Luckily, he has Princess Luna to make him happy.

Though, considering his adoptive father is Discord. Chaos is all part of the course.
The story is mostly slice of life. Especially at the beginning. But as it goes on, things become more chaotic and life tumbles down into chaos for our good Anon. Everything from dealing with the queen of the changelings to even getting his own chance at soviet Glimmer. All that and more in this story.
