Four legs and magic. What kind of mess have I gotten myself into? I only wanted a full length mirror for home, and now I'm in a strange world with no friends or family. Who's this dark horse in my reflections and why is it blocking my trip home?
(As of 4/3/2016, this story has been Good HiE List Approved!) A garage sale mirror was purchased, cleaned and polished, yet some dark shape seemed to block the light. Jess tried to clean it off, only to find her hand going through the mirror itself! This dark form became more solid on the other side, and actively blocked her path home. Now she'll need to figure out more than just how to walk on four legs as a pony, she'll need to learn how to use magic and find out what is preventing her from leaving. What will she do once she finds out why the 'shadow' blocks her path, and what can she do to return home? (This story takes place in tandem with "Trapped in the Mirror of Worlds" by my good friend, Silver_Wing. Our characters intersect at many points, and you will enjoy the nuances of each character's perspective of events).

'unexpected' side effects, right? Tried and tested, completely safe! That is, of course, if there's not somepony with a secret crush also involved.
When Celestia banished Nightmare Moon, she didn't go alone, but with her loyal army. Now they're trapped in an alien environment, with tensions high and the air running out. If they don't work together, their princess will soon be alone after all.
History is written by the victors, but there’s nothing to guarantee they’ll be honest.
When Nightmare Moon’s rebellion tore across Equestria, leaving a trail of blood and horror in its wake, Princess Celestia knew that merely banishing her sister wouldn’t be enough. Her army was too powerful, and too bloodthirsty, to be left behind without a leader. When she finally turned the Elements of Harmony against her, she didn’t just banish Nightmare Moon. She banished thousands.
Now they’re in a race against time, to find a way to survive in an environment so alien that every aspect of it is trying to kill them. They face suffocation, freezing, boiling, starvation, radiation, meteorite impacts, low gravity… the list goes on.
Nightmare Moon thought she should be the ruler of all Equestria. Now, in a world nopony was ever meant to survive, her abilities will be put to the ultimate test.

Sunset Shimmer's close friends know about the magical world called "Equestria", but, soon, Twilight becomes unsatisfied with just having their questions answered. So, Sunset brings her camera in her next trip across the portal.
For Sunset Shimmer, letting a group of impressionable high school students in the know about another dimension where magic reigns and talking ponies are the norm is not the easiest thing to handle. It does not help that the portal to this dimension is right in front of the school.
Sooner or later, though, she has to deal with more than mere questions about Equestria. Twilight becomes curious enough that words won't cut it for her anymore. She wants to see this dimension for herself.
So, Sunset begins by offering to bring her camera through the portal to take pictures and videos of her next trip there in Equestria.
Anon and Fluttershy get into a fight. Furious, Anonymous decides to go to a bar to cool down for a bit. While he's there, he meets a Diamond Dog named Ruby. This is how her heart breaks.

As Gallus' first semester at Princess Twilight's School of Friendship comes to an end, he begins to take steps towards where he wants to spend the summer... And the rest of his life.
The Dazzlings, and their malevolent Battle of the Bands, have left Vice Principal Luna discouraged and feeling powerless. To have any hope of solace... she'll have to have a long talk with herself.
For as far back as she can remember, Vice Principal Luna has had no choice but to stand by and watch her well-meaning sister get in all sorts of trouble. Now, with supernatural threats appearing from another world, Luna finds herself losing faith in her ability to make any real difference in her students' lives, or Celestia's.
Perhaps a visit to that other world will provide some perspective.
Earth is only just recovering from a war that almost wiped out the pony descendants of humankind. But when the Alicorns fail them, the survivors turn to an unlikely source for aid: Jackie the bat pony.
Earth has faced terrible things since the Event transformed all living humans into ponies and scattered them across time. Equestria's own demons nearly wiped out civilization more than once, and devastating internal war nearly finished the job.
But now the worst threats are gone, the weapons ponies created to survive them are more dangerous than ever. The superintelligence Athena now rules the world, absolute authority over all civilization. With her power and intellect, she drives the survivors towards greatness, regardless of the body count along the way.
But there are ponies who resist, who yearn for something better. Jackie is not one of those ponies. But maybe they can get her help. It isn't like they have anywhere else to turn.
A ponies after people story. Requires knowledge from 'The Last War' to the end of Bedtime Stories to really make sense, but not necessarily full coverage beyond that.

Humanity's space exploration ultimately took the form of billions of identical probes, capable of building anything (including astronauts themselves) upon arrival at their destinations. One lands in Equestria. Things go downhill from there.
There are 100 billion stars in the Milky Way, and humanity is determined to explore every one. We send probes, probes with the blueprints to reproduce human explorers upon arrival. Uninhabited worlds the galaxy over can be colonized and populated, until after many years they too can join the vast throng of interstellar civilization. But if a probe is very, very lucky, it will land on a populated world instead. Equestria is one such world.
Even so, it's far from perfect for colonization, not with an environment lethal to human life. But each probe is resourceful and armed with the greatest machine intelligence mankind has devised. If placing a human mind into a newly manufactured human body won't work, it will just have to get a little more creative.

After the events of A Canterlot Wedding, Shining Armor learns that the pony he's come to truly love – and whom he asked to marry him – was not the real Cadence at all, but instead the Queen of the Changelings. The real Cadence indeed still views him as only a friend.
Shining then heads to the Badlands to find the Queen to set some things straight...as well as to tie up some loose ends. Upon finding her, however, things do not go according to the Queen's expectations...

You are a unicorn stallion, who wakes up to find that you fell asleep while on the Friendship Express and have missed your stop in Ponyville. Now you have to wait until you reach the next stop in the Crystal Empire in order to return home.
Fortunately across from you is another traveler, who might be a little odd but is still willing to accompany you on your journey. She is a chimera pony hybrid by the name of Amble Barb.

After working together to save Equestria, Rainbow Dash and Flash Magnus ended up becoming really good friends. So close in fact, that Dash was curious about taking things further. However, Flash seemed to be resistant for an odd, but big reason...
Flash Magnus may have been born and raised in a completely different era, but he and the other Pillars have been able to adjust to modern Equestrian society with the help of the Elements of Harmony. In fact, Flash was able to make an especially strong friendship with Rainbow Dash, a fellow flier whose bravery and competitive spirit rivaled his own.
However, after spending a few months together as close friends, it seemed that Rainbow was wanting to take things a bit further than just friends. Even though the stallion was more than interested, he knew he couldn't reciprocate Dash's actions when she tried to make the first move. And when she tried to ask why, Flash found it hard to adequately explain his reason without hurting her, or making her judge him too poorly.
For you see, Flash Magnus had a rather significant reason for his resistance towards a possible relationship, even with someone as amazing as Rainbow Dash. While they have have been the same age (biologically speaking), Flash was raised in a much different era as the Element of Loyalty. Most of their differences in upbringing could be looked aside, but there was one big one he knew could be a deal-breaker. And despite how he felt about Rainbow, the soldier was worried how she would react if she learned the truth.
A Cozy Glow-hating brony is fooled by the nefarious filly herself into switching bodies, now he's the one locked in Tartarus while she's causing havoc in his world. Uh-oh. Also, nopony believes him... because he's Cozy Glow. Makes perfect sense.
Fluttershy doesn't know what to think of Discord anymore. She wishes she could understand him. Little does she know that, with the help of a mysterious stranger, that wish is about to come true...
Set directly after the Tirek incident, Fluttershy and Discord are suffering, alone and apart. Fluttershy may have forgiven him, but she feels that she has failed her friend, and longs to understand Discord. Why wasn't she good enough, why did he betray them? Why hadn't he cherished their friendship as much as she had?
Discord, on the other hand, struggles from the pain of his own guilt, and doesn't even know who he is anymore. He doesn't want to lose the closest friend he has either, but he's positive that their relationship will never be the same again. He can't stand it.
They're falling apart, and the magic of the earth isn't happy about it. Then a cloaked stranger comes into the picture, and plants a mysterious flower...
Fluttershy only utters a simple request. "I wish I could understand you, Discord..."
Little does she know that such a wish entails much more than just an understanding...and her wish is granted in the most chaotic of ways--and the only one who can help her is the very friend she is trying to understand.
One night in 1986, the twelve year old Lauren Faust wakes up finding a talking pony under her bed. She follows the pegasus though a tunnel into a place called Equestria.
In the middle of the night of 1986, a twelve-year-old girl wakes up to find an armored pegasus underneath her bed. The pegasus suddenly leaves, but not without the little girl following him back to Equestria. There she finds Princess Celestia when she asks the little girl what her name was, she nearly goes into shock.
"It's Lauren," she said. "My name is Lauren Faust."
