Dale finds himself hospitalized in Equestria after defending Lyra from the Coast Guard. Worse--he's not the only person there.
After the accidental discovery of humans, Celestia tasked Lyra with learning about Dale's culture and Dale's language. Two meetings later, a misunderstanding caused Dale and a Coast Guard woman to be inadvertently transported to Equestria. With the two humans hospitalized and communication limited at best, the Equestrians just want to heal them, while back on earth the Coast Guard wants nothing more than to determine what happened to one of their sailors.
Lyra summoned a Human to Equestria on the day of the Summer Sun Celebration... the same day Celestia's Student moved into Ponyville. Now she and her roommate Bon-Bon have to keep him safe from, literally, EVERYTHING!
At first, he was just an ordinary man on Earth. Now, he's a not-so-ordinary man on Equus, in the kingdom of Equestria.
He's constantly under the care of a mare named Lyra Heartstrings, and her roommate Bon-Bon. What's more, he's also apparently a bit of a "myth" in this world, which means he has to hide from the Higher-Ups, or risk getting experimented on!
To top it all off, the problems that keep happening around the town of Ponyville are, in some way, shape, and/or form, tied in with these two strange mares! And they may not even realize it!

Lyra Heartstrings wasn't always a unicorn. In fact, that isn't even her real name. She wasn't even born in Equestria. But it's her job to defend it from various threats nonetheless, alongside her begrudging partner, Bonbon.
They finally revealed themselves in the mid 21st century. After hundreds of years of clandestine observation and experimentation, they admitted defeat in their quest to prevent the genetic death of their race. Thus, they gave us their knowledge and technology in the hopes we could avoid their fate. But the gifts came with a responsibility: we had to assume their role in overseeing and protecting the various worlds they had taken under their wing, or in some cases, had outright created as experiments. Amongst these is, of course, Equis, the one experiment world with a full ecosystem complete with non-human sapient natives, and we can't exactly wear a body suit and expect to fit in.

David Lawson joined one such company, but on the flight back to Earth, something went terribly wrong. Now, David has crash landed on an unknown planet. He is all alone... or so he thought.
Midnight Shadow, a unicorn mare from Canterlot, takes responsibility for the strange alien creature and saves his life, but can he even make a life for himself in this new world? Can he ever find happiness? Security? Love?
The way certain characters act was inspired by a few other stories on here, namely Fleeting Flames, To Find a Rainbow, and Lyra's Confession. I highly recommended you read those if you haven't yet.

Even though Lyra Heartstring's "Anthropology" was discontinued from circulation years ago, my friends and I were still mildly interested in humans. Things got strange one day when I found my cutie mark had disappeared. Nopony has ever had a cutie mark disappear before, so where the heck did they go? And who messed with my mane?!
Written in tribute to a great guy... or is it pony now... named Twisted Spectrum, and the story they wrote five years ago that nearly made the world burn.
