UPDATE/EDIT: I don't want people to look at this story and expect a one shot clopfic read. I fully intend to make this a story of progression, love, and finding oneself just with a lot more humor than other stories like it. Strangely, this story still makes me smile just as often as cringe with what high school me wrote. Oh my god. Still, I can't help but laugh at just what this strange weird story did for me.

Every Taraskan soldier has the same secret dream: to die and never wake up to the hell that is war. Raiden’s country is not an elite fighting force. As broken as they are, they limp along and salvage what they can. Their best advancements are what they learn from the few allies they can get. As the world around them is engulfed by a darkness known as the Og Nag, Taraska is one of the last cities and therefore must do the unthinkable: be bait. Raiden is the King’s right hand in the worst way possible; having his intellect and natural fighting skill be used to destroy both their enemies and himself. I wanted them to understand the paranoia and emotional fatigue that I do with my PTSD. I wanted readers to see a character with weaknesses and flaws, who gets tired, who gets emotional, who gets irrational and watch him pay for those flaws. I wanted a female character who doesn't hide her femininity but doesn't upplay it either. I wanted characters who solve a lot of their problems with their minds and strategy, not brute force. I woke up in a cage in the middle of nowhere, was saved and now in a prison called a "Foster Home." I accidentally crashed into the local princesses room after breaking the sound barrier, (Not sure how), after being chased across the country by the local military. One of them I kicked on the way out. I think her name was... Spitfire. Oh, well... No, wait. She's in charge of my prison! Nooooooo!

Damon Flame was just trying to escape his past when he ended up in Equestria. Things were finally looking up for him but life decided to take away everything he had worked so hard for and make it all for naught.
Equestria, a land with a mysterious past surrounded by powerful forces. Enter Damon Flame, a 19 year old living on his own trying to get by in life after escaping his home five years ago. He was just starting to regain some semblance of control over his life and was beginning to accept some of the scars his past left on his mind. Things are finally looking up but his healing is interrupted by life kicking him in the teeth, stealing a couple organs, and dragging him to some freaky place. At least it had the courtesy to leave him in the ICU.

Anon is so nice to help Twilight practice her magic, especially with so many new spells to test out. But he quickly finds that things can go terribly terribly wrong when magic acts unpredictably, even if he doesn't feel a thing.

One organization tries its hardest to keep these Planes in line, and govern the nigh infinite souls that occupy them. But even with a galaxy's worth of agents and the power of the Prime Material Plane at their disposal, something occasionally slips their radar.
Sam is one of those things. An unassuming, twenty-something who one day finds himself stranded in another world. Luckily for him, the inhabitants of Equestria take friendship very seriously. The Elements of Harmony take it upon themselves to befriend and welcome him to Equestria. It certainly doesn't hurt that he's the first and only human ever seen on their planet.
However, all good things must come to an end. Equestria finds itself under attack, both by unknown creatures and beings similar to the country's newest inhabitant. Sam and the Elements must find a way to beat them back, but first they need to figure out who in the Nine Hells this new enemy is.
So begins my first HiE, let alone my first story to be published here. I hope it will be my longest piece to date (even if I never submitted most of my others). I have a long way to go before I can be a professional writer, but that's what this is all about, isn't it? Exercising our writing muscles in a place where some may find enjoyment in our attempts to improve ourselves. So please, lay into me. Tell me what I'm doing wrong, I implore you. It is the only way I will grow as a writer. And, if I can set aside my stubborn pride long enough to learn something, perhaps I will do just that.
P.S. This story is set immediately after the events of Season 3, but before EQG. Yes, that is going to be canon in this universe. Why? Because it suits my purposes, that's why.
