A prequel set in the continuity of My Little Apprentice. This story is not required to understand that one, or vice-versa.

Jackie doesn't care about any of that, she just wants to attend a convention with her sister and get them both back home again. But magic is insidious, and even takes hold of those who try hardest to reject it. She should probably just run away, but these ponies are just so dang cute.

I wasn't the most consistent fan of My Little Pony, in all honesty. In fact that show wasn't the only thing on my list of interests. For a long while I had left those colorful ponies in the dust. I practically missed seasons 7-8 because I had gotten bored. However... it was the last season that drew me back in. I guess I now know a bit about the show, but not everything. I definitely knew of Cozy Glow however. She was hated by everyone. Well, except me. For some reason I liked her as the mischievous little filly she was. Her character interested me and I wanted to learn more. I wanted to see what kind of history she had. Why did she decide to turn evil? She was probably the only reason I went back to previous seasons.
You could guess how disappointed I was when the finale came up. Instead of helping her, they turned her to stone. Instead of trying to figure out the issue, they left her behind to be forgotten. Everyone cheered and laughed while Cozy, Chrysalis, and Tirek were turned into statues for the rest of eternity. I was displeased. Afterwards I drifted away and instead tried to focus on my work. I had to, after all. I was becoming an adult. I was growing up. Though the stress might pile up on me, I had to keep going. I had to get things done...
I could keep going... couldn't I?
It seems however that the universe had decided to drag me back into a world of rainbows and magic. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly woke up the next day inside a cage in the deepest, darkest chambers of Tartarus. Not only that but also as the small pink bundle of feathers that everyone loathed and despised. A billion questions rang through my head but the most prominent ones of all continuously pounded against my skull: What in the holy hell do I do from here?
And how do I stop what comes next?

They finally revealed themselves in the mid 21st century. After hundreds of years of clandestine observation and experimentation, they admitted defeat in their quest to prevent the genetic death of their race. Thus, they gave us their knowledge and technology in the hopes we could avoid their fate. But the gifts came with a responsibility: we had to assume their role in overseeing and protecting the various worlds they had taken under their wing, or in some cases, had outright created as experiments. Amongst these is, of course, Equis, the one experiment world with a full ecosystem complete with non-human sapient natives, and we can't exactly wear a body suit and expect to fit in.
And that is why I'm a mint-colored unicorn now, mom.

The pay is good, I get to see a new world, help protect innocents from the meaner denizens of the place, that sort of thing. ...No, mom, I am not still upset that you didn't get me a car on my sixteenth birthday. You are Anonymous and you are a member of the Royal Border Guard, a subdivision of the Royal Guard. After being transported to Equestria by unknown means, you have learned to adapt and make the most out of your new life after about a year. You've even managed to land a job with the Royal Guard after Shining Armor eavesdropped on one of your conversations about your home world.
Now you protect and patrol the borders of Equestria, bringing some spice in your life once more, until it all peaks when you're sent to patrol the easternmost border in Equestria, next to the Dragon Badlands. After a brief, yet very dangerous first encounter with a group of dragons, you start to wonder if this is the job you really want to keep doing with your life.
But as some time goes by and you begin to have your doubts, you feel... odd. As if something, or someone, is watching you.
You begin to wonder what exactly does this someone want?

A United States Air Force AC-130 is transported to Equestria while in transit through the Bermuda Triangle. Insanity aside, this motley crew of aviators must juggle their duties while treading the uncertain waters of diplomacy.
Disclaimer: I've decided to write this in an attempt to get a more realistic view of what military in Equestria would act like, rather then the dark brooding kill happy stuff I've read. So with that being said, these guys will act more like diplomats. So there won't be much gore, and they certainly won't be going on a killing spree. (Obviously, as fiction the term realistic is applied loosely. My main goal is a realistic characterization of one specific community within the military. Just keep an open mind about how sub-cultures can exist within an entity as large as the U.S. military and you'll be fine.) Also rated teen for obvious reasons, morbid humor, light swearing, and background stories.
